The OnePlus 5 has received the Face Unlock feature few months ago, with the update of Android Oreo. Anyhow, this feature is first debuted with the OnePlus 5T smartphone. The OnePlus has now affirmed that the face unlock feature will be rolling out soon to the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T smartphones.

The Global Director of OnePlus, Carl Pei has said that the team will roll out Face Unlock to the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T in prospective open beta update. Furthermore, Carlhas teased about Face Unlock feature for the older OnePlus smartphones on Twitter in December 2017, but he had not said about it until now. The OnePlus’ Face Unlock feature on OnePlus 5T smartphone depends completely on the front camera and software algorithms. The users need to enter their face expression into the system same likefingerprint scanning technology. The Face Unlock feature enables the users to unlock their smartphone by simply looking at it.
