The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited telecom operator said that it has requested the broadband subscribers to change their default system password after the malware attack hits on the part of its broadband system during this week.
The Chairman of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, Shrivastava, told that the situation has been noticed intensely. We are asking customers that they should promptly change their default passwords, and they should not be troubled about using broadband once they have changed the password. The malware attack has affected almost 2,000 broadband modems, where users had not altered the default password ‘admin’. He further said that the malware has not jolted Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited’s core billing, network or any other system.

During the attack, the malware was altering the passwords of users (those who were using default password) and so the impacted modems were unable to login. This attack has appeared earlier this week, Shrivastava said, the company’s call centers were aggressively reaching out to users to inform them, and request them about careful measures.
