Very recently BlackBerry CEO John Chen has made some revelation about Blackberry’s future. The Goal is to sell 5 million smartphones in a year to remain profitable. For this reason, the upcoming BlackBerry which is Android-powered carries a lot of weightage.

In the latest earning reports the company managed to sell 800,000 phones in the second quarter of the financial year. That is why there are high hopes for Priv.

If the company will be unable to meet these goals, there is a greater chance of that mobile division can be compromised. If BlackBerry Priv turns out to be unsuccessful, BlackBerry mobile division might experience a shut down. If that turns out to be the case, then BlackBerry could only be running the  business as a provider of security technology for other platforms, such as Apple’s iOS or Google’s Android.

The BlackBerry Priv will cordially runs Android and BlackBerry security technology. Initially, John Chen matched his company’s mobile security technology to Samsung’s Knox in terms of features. However, the BlackBerry CEO assures that Priv will outperform other devices when it comes to battery life, antennas, and text input.
