India has recently surpassed USA in terms of the largest smartphone market in the world after China. A market research company with the name of Canalys’s has reported that there were more than 40 million smartphones shipped only in India, and that too only in the third quarter of 2017. This means that there has been 23% rise in the overall smartphone sales in India in this third quarter as compared to the last year.

These numbers have positioned India on the second number, which means it has also surpassed USA in this respect. This also happened with USA back in 2011, when China became the largest market for mobile phones after overtaking USA. The main reason behind the developing countries getting more sales than USA or other developed countries is higher population as well as the access to the faster 4G internet.

The noteworthy thing is that India has 1.3 billion people, which makes it the second largest country in the world by population. This is something that is now being materialized into the mobile phone sales as well.
