Currently in Pakistan a few mobile manufacturers are offering services like OTA updates and to state right these are more than rare. Most of the OTA updates are usually made for the high-end devices. The reason is that only they have the capacity to receive and configure update efficiently. In Pakistan esp. as the trend is towards entry-level to mid ranged smartphones, OTA update has never been found abundant among the companies offering handsets accordingly.

Recently Huawei Y520 is receiving an OTA update which is surely a positive step. This is the first time the company is targeting entry-level smartphones for OTA update. The update size is 60.3 MB. More devices are expected to receive OTA soon.
