Samsung Declared as Global Topper for Smartphone Shipments in 2nd Quarter of 2017

Among all the smartphones shipped across the world in 2nd quarter of 2017, Samsung’s share turned out to be 22.1%, which is maximum a company could achieve. Thus, the company has been able to maintain its leading position in smartphone market and sales.

The total number of smartphones shipped by Samsung in 2nd quarter of 2017 were 79.1 million, which are roughly 1.9 million more than the same period one year ago.

It seems clear that Samsung has successfully recovered from the Note 7 debacle happened a year ago, as the sales this year have been 2% higher than the same 2nd quarter in 2016.

The second position is still held by Apple with Huawei being third and Oppo at fourth position. Xiaomi holds fifth position for second quarter of 2017 results. Similarly, the overall market in second quarter of 2017 as compared to previous year’s second quarter has been increased by 6%.
