Google Experimented Coffee Making through VR
The experiment involved two groups for making espresso. The first group had watched the YouTube video in order to understand the coffee making process and the second one had used VR simulator.
Google tried to design the VR simulator as realistic as possible, as it could be seen that the buttons and dials provided on the machine are just as it is as the real machines have.
Built-in tutorial is also given inside the VR simulator to guide the user at every single step.
Participants were allowed to watch the YouTube video or be part of VR simulator as many times as they wanted to. After that, they had to go through the test of making real espresso.
Google claimed that units / people under the VR simulator testing learnt fast and utilized less time to prepare coffee with few to none mistakes.
