The Patent Dispute Settled Between Nokia and Apple, A Business Collaboration Signed.

A lawsuit had filed by Nokia against Apple in US and Europe. Nokia claimed that Apple has been using its 32 patents without its permission. The claimed patents used by Apple are display, user interface, software, antenna, chipsets and video coding. Such cases take years but surprisingly, Nokia and Apple has sat on a table and settled it. Moreover, there has been signed a deeper business collaboration between them.

According to this settlement, Apple agreed to buy Nokia services and products. Hence, Nokia’s share is going to grow up to 7%. It was quite a surprise and an unexpected move by Apple. This dispute started in last December and comes to this successful end for Nokia.

Under a business collaboration agreement, Nokia will be providing certain network infrastructure product and services to Apple. Apple will resume carrying Nokia digital health products (formerly under the Withings brand) in Apple retail and online stores, and Apple and Nokia are exploring future collaboration in digital health initiatives

 Jeff Williams, CEO Apple said that they are pleased with the result of this dispute and we look forward for our business relationship with Nokia.
